  • Moldova Evangelistic meetings poster. Great Job!

  • 24 days

All 12 sermons for the first 12 nights are written and are available for any pastor in the countries of the Euro-Asia who will be starting their own meetings on February 19. Now is the hardest part: 9 more sermons for the televised segment of the meetings when our ministry in Moldova will merge over the satellite with the local meetings across the 12 time zones. There is so much that I learn myself working on the sermon scripts about the central truths of the Word of God! If only not the heart breaking messages about the deteriorating health condition of my Dad … Pastors, actually, also deal with personal frustrations and pain of the present day realities… However, I was very much encouraged this morning visiting an elderly lady at the Emory-Adventist hospital. Her son, who is not a Seventh-day Adventist was so thankful for a visit and a prayer. I felt that God brought me there not so much because of the elderly lady, but because of me … I needed to be reassured that there is a great blessing in being a pastor.

The “sanctuary” sermon was finished on Tuesday night. My next message on the major prophetic period taking us into the 1800s is almost done, but needs some polishing. That is the hardest part as it seems that every statement can be expressed even better. My challenge again is the Slavic spiritual heritage. The Slavic mind is not so much concerned with the dates and the iron logic of the biblical prophecies. It is seeking the inner beauty of the message based on the inspiration from above. It needs the stream of the divine light, not the exactness of the numbers. How can this important biblical message be shared in the terms that will penetrate into the souls of my Eastern European friends? God help me! Only 35 days left, but there is still so much that needs to be done!

  • 42 days to the meetings

Good news! Galena was able to get all 5 weeks off work and she can come with me to the meetings in Moldova. What a blessing!

My sermon on the Sanctuary is taking more time than I planned initially. I get so carried away reading and studying how the sanctuary symbols relate to my personal salvation. I want this to be a message of hope for the people of our days, not just a lecture on the Old Testament symbols.

Last night I finished a sermon on the change of the Sabbath day to Sunday. My plan for today and tomorrow to complete my rough draft of the sanctuary message. I like the topic and I believe that it has a relevant message for the person of the XXI century.  I need to get additional sources from the eastern Christian heritage.

  • The evangelistic meetings in Moldova are starting in just a few weeks; 40+ days. Working on a new series of sermons is not easy taking into account a full time job at the Lakeview church, a full time husband and father position at home, but still very rewarding. 8 sermons have been already uploaded for our dear pastors in the Euri-Asia division. Today I am finishing sermon 9. How the Sabbath observance was changed to Sunday keeping. Its cold outside, but sitting by the fireplace adds some inspiration. Actually, inspiration is one of the most important factors in this project.
